The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR, which actually runs all the way from Canton to Rockside via Akron & the Canal Visitor Centre) began operations as a tourist line in 1972 on a section of former Baltimore & Ohio Railroad (B&O) track that runs through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio.
Equipment on the train includes former Penn Central coaches, and a former Baltimore & Ohio dining car. Motive power is varied & includes an ex-CN Montreal Locomotive Works FPA-4 diesel locomotive repainted into Baltimore & Ohio colours.
The train winds it way along the Cuyahoga River valley from Akron Northside station under towering highway bridges, past the Boston Mills ski resort & through the Pinery Narrows near Alexander’s Mill on your way to the Canal Visitors Centre & Museum.
Great scenery, fine dining & friendly service await on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
